In Real Healthy, Melissa Hemsley offers a beacon of simple, wholesome eating with over 100 recipes designed to help you cut back on ultra-processed foods without sacrificing flavour or convenience. As a follow-up to her acclaimed titles, The Art of Eating Well and Eat Happy, Hemsley’s new cookbook is a treasure trove of nourishing, veg-packed dishes crafted to fit seamlessly into your daily routine, whether you're enjoying a quick breakfast, preparing a speedy dinner, or even making a snack for yourself or your family.

With a compelling foreword by nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert, Real Healthy becomes not just a cookbook but an essential guide to understanding the detrimental impacts of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) and how to significantly reduce their presence in your diet. The book delves into the alarming statistics, revealing that the average person in the UK derives 56% of their calories from UPFs, which are linked to serious health issues such as high blood pressure and heart disease.

To combat this, Hemsley introduces a slew of easy, delightful recipes tailored to the needs of those with busy lifestyles. Chapters dedicated to on-the-go breakfasts, working lunches, snacks, and sweet treats ensure that you have healthful choices throughout the day. She also delves into batch cooking, traybakes, and 30-minute meals, ensuring that you can always have a delicious, wholesome meal ready without too much fuss.

Some standout recipes include the comforting One-Pot Lazy Lasagne, the delectable Cherry Bakewell Granola, and the satisfying Take-To-Work White Bean Chilli. Each recipe is created with the aim of making healthy eating not only achievable but enjoyable. Furthermore, helpful tips on identifying and avoiding UPFs make Real Healthy an invaluable resource for anyone looking to overhaul their eating habits.
