What's the last day for Christmas delivery?
In-stock books and puzzles can be ordered right up until 23 December for delivery anywhere in New Zealand by Christmas.Β Look for the green in-stock label on eligible products - there are over 80,000 to choose from!

Orders for in-stock products are delivered overnight anywhere in New Zealand and will arrive before Christmas if ordered on or before 23 December.
Orders for out of stock products take longer to arrive and the estimated dispatch date is shown on the product page and in confirmation emails sent to your email address. You will receive an email with a tracking link when your order ships.

If your order doesn't arrive in time and it was intended as a gift, we will accept this back as a return and issue you with a full refund.
If you wish to return a book that intended as a Christmas Gift you must contact us before 16 January.

Yes! Select the "Send as Gift" option on any product page. For $5.95 we'll gift wrap your gift and include a hand-written personalised gift card. You can select to have your gift sent to yourself or direct to your loved one.

Yes! Just enter the recipients delivery address in the Checkout and we'll send your order directly to them. We do not include any packing slip, invoice or display the price in any way.

You can order Book Hero gift cards in $25, $50 and $100. Gift cards can be emailed directly to the recipient or printed and given as a physical gift. Gift cards expire 3 years from the date of issue.

We ship fast with NZ Postβs Overnight Delivery Service so you get your books quickly and can start reading sooner!
- Delivery ranges from $5.90 to $10.90, depending on the size of your order
- Rural delivery is only $3 extra
- Shipping is tracked and calculated automatically at checkout.
We work hard to keep delivery costs low and aim to ship all in-stock books the same day, as long as you order before the cut-off time on the product page.

We hold over tens of thousands of books in-stock and orders for in stock titles are delivered overnight nationwide using NZ Post.
Products that are 'Available with Supplier', on 'Backorder' and on 'Pre-order' will be clearly labeled with their expected shipment dates.

Yes we do! We use NZ Post to deliver all of our packages and NZ Post can deliver to PO Boxes.

Weβre based in Auckland and deliver nationwide across New Zealand. We also ship to Australia, with rates calculated at checkout. At this stage, we donβt offer shipping outside New Zealand and Australia.

You can browse a selection of our books. Our bookshop shelves hold a curated range of favourites, and we're directly connected to our 80,000+ book warehouse, so if a book you're interested in is not on display, itβs only a few steps away and we can grab it for you!
Can I collect my order in person?

Yes! We offer a free Pick Up service for customers who live in Auckland. Place your order online as normal and select Pick Up in the Checkout. Orders are ready within 1 hour during normal business hours and we'll send you an email when your order is ready to pick up.

We're currently open for Pick Ups from 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am - 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. We are closed on Public Holidays.

Our bookshop and warehouse is located at 8/4 Rawiri Place, Hobsonville 0618, Auckland.
We are not a normal retail store - our bookstore is home to roughly 1,000 titles which you can browse, and we have over 80,000 titles just a few steps away in our warehouse - any of which we can grab for you.
Ordering

Absolutely! We work with suppliers and publishers in New Zealand and overseas. You can use our Book Finding Service and we'll give you a price and an estimated date for delivery to New Zealand.

If you find a book cheaper elsewhere please drop us an email or use the form on the product page (under Add to Cart) and we'll do our best to match it. We hold local stock in Auckland and provide a high service level to customers, so we regret that in some instances we're unable to provide the lowest price for a book.

We currently accept VISA, Master Card, American Express and After Pay. We also support Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.

Of course! We ship all orders using NZ Post and you can track your order from My Account or by following the link sent to your email address.

If you want to cancel your order before your books have shipped, drop us an email and we'll cancel your order and issue you a refund.
If you want to return books from an order that's already shipped, drop us an email and we'll process a return for you.

We do everything possible to package your books careful to ensure it arrives in mint condition. However, if your book arrives damaged please take a photo and drop us an email within 7 days of receiving your damaged book. We'll do our best to look after you with either a replacement book or a refund.

If you've changed your mind and want to return a book you can do so within 7 days so long as the book is unread and returned to us in mint condition.
Christmas Returns
During the holiday period, any books purchased between 1 November and 31 December can be returned up until 16 January, provided they are in brand new, unread condition.

If you wish to return a book for any reason you must contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. We will let you know where to send the book.
If you are returning a book because it is damaged or it's not the book you ordered - Book Hero will cover the courier fees associated with the return.
If you are returning the book because you've changed your mind or you ordered the wrong book, you may be expected to cover the courier fees.
Christmas Returns
