This is the definitive book on mindfulness from the beloved Zen master and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh.
The Miracle of Mindfulness is a timeless guide to the practice of mindful meditation, written by the internationally revered Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. Through a compassionate and clear narrative, Thich Nhat Hanh distils the essence of mindfulness into practical exercises and heartwarming anecdotes, making complex concepts approachable and life-changing.
The book begins by introducing mindfulness as a means to fully appreciate the present moment, encouraging readers to break free from the constant cycle of thoughts that distract us from true living. Each chapter offers practical guidance, detailing specific exercises such as conscious breathing, mindful walking, and deep listening, all aimed at cultivating a deep sense of awareness in everyday life. Thich Nhat Hanh's eloquent storytelling is imbued with a sense of warmth and tenderness, reflecting his deep Buddhist teachings and his experience as a peace activist.
Thich Nhat Hanh’s compassionate approach resonates through every page. He invites readers to engage with everyday activities—such as washing dishes, eating, or drinking tea—with an attitude of mindfulness, turning mundane routines into profound meditative practices. By guiding readers in this way, Hanh teaches that mindfulness is not about escaping from reality, but rather embracing it fully and joyfully.
