Sun-Steeped is an affirmation deck and guidebook that shines a light on every nook and cranny of our innermost selves. It's here to capture the golden-hour moments of sunrise and sunset and the feeling of freedom that comes with stepping into the daylight to photosynthesise. Much like a cup of tea needs time to bask in the warmth of water before it's ready to be enjoyed, we too must bask in the warmth of the sun to grow into our best selves.
The deck consists of fifty-four uniquely illustrated cards, each one featuring an affirmation designed to guide gentle and friendly inquiry into the user's inner world. The cards are intentionally numbered in such a way that the beginning cards explore themes of childlike wonder and new beginnings, on through affirmations that challenge perceptions generated by low self-esteem. The last cards explore newfound determination, self-realisation, and loving awareness. It's the only deck that captures the transformative moments of sunrise and sunset and draws inspiration from the warmth and power of daylight.

About the Author
Shannon Christie (shannon-christie.com) is an illustrator and mental health care worker living in Portland, Oregon. Born in Southern California and transplanted to the Pacific Northwest as a child, she attended the University of Oregonwhere she majored in psychology and minored in music and studio art. She received a master of science applied psychology from Sacred Heart University.
Her work is highly reflective of her background, exploring themes of identity and emotion while incorporating elements of whimsicality and surrealism. The focuses on both psychology and art in her life give her inspiration and perspective on how a piece moves a person and how creativity connects us all.
From 2020 to 2022, Shannon ran Ragtag Magazine, a web publication focusing on uplifting makers of the Pacific Northwest. She served as editor in chief with a team of over thirty people. Currently, Shannon has made a second home for herself at the Haven (thehavenpdx.com), an eclectic collective of artists, makers, and healers. Her work is featured in their retail space and on the road at any of the many festivals and events that they create, curate, or partner with.
