Most people think of Leonardo Da Vinci as some old guy painting stuff hundreds of years ago… yet even Da Vinci was once a bold, troublemaking kid who craved adventure—this is his story! Young Leo has spent his childhood exploring art and engineering (and creepy caves) in the freedom of his hometown. But when his long-lost dad drags Leo to an apprenticeship far away, our boy genius soon finds himself out of his depth… and in a city on the brink of war!
Fortunately, Leo also finds two new friends who change his life forever: Tano, a charmingly clumsy chum from Africa, and Filomena, a pre-teen patron who funds Leo’s latest inventions and always wears a mysterious smile—the smile which will inspire Da Vinci’s most famous portrait. Writer/Creator, Richard Ashley Hamilton (He/Him) Richard Ashley Hamilton is an award-winning Cuban-American (no, really) screenwriter and author best known for his storytelling across many DreamWorks Animation franchises including How To Train Your Dragon and Guillermo Del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia. He wrote on the Daytime Emmy-winning first season of Dragons: Race to the Edge and the Lumiere award-winning How To Train Your Dragon: Hidden World Tour VR experience. But in his heart, Richard remains a lifelong comic book fan and has created titles for Dark Horse, Aftershock/Seismic Press, Papercutz, and more. He currently writes two YA graphic novel series, SCOOP and TECTIV, for Mad Cave/Maverick, and his middle-grade horror title, FEARBOOK CLUB, was named a 2022 Junior Library Guild Official Selection. Richard lives in Glendale, CA, with his wife, their two sons, and a Husky named Lulu.
Marco Matrone, Naples 1985, illustrator and colorist. In 2016 he worked as colorist for Sword and Sorcery by Ares Games. In 2017 he draws Last Kaiju published by Magic Press. He works as a colorist for Sergio Bonelli Editore on Il Commissario Ricciardi and i Bastardi di Pizzofalcone. Also for Bonelli he works as an illustrator for 4Hoods. In 2018 he is co-author of Senzombra for Bao Publishing. 2019 He works as storyboard Artist, concept artist and character deisgner for the animated film The Walking Liberty. In 2021 he draws Fearbook Club published by Aftershock, with texts by Richard Ashley Hamilton, with whom he also makes Tectiv in 2024 published by Mad Cave Studios.
