Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Efficiency of Biomass Energy details the energy and exergy efficiencies of all major aspects of bioenergy systems.

It covers all major bioenergy processes starting from photosynthesis and cultivation of biomass feedstocks and ending with final bioenergy products, like power, biofuels, and chemicals.

Each chapter includes historical developments, chemistry, major technologies, and applications. Additionally, it explores the energy, environmental, and economic aspects to serve as an introduction to biomass and bioenergy.

A separate chapter introduces beginners in an easily accessible way to exergy analysis, emphasizing the similarities and differences between energy and exergy efficiencies.

The book includes case studies and illustrative examples of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation biofuels production, power and heat generation (such as thermal plants, fuel cells, boilers), and biorefineries.

Traditional fossil fuel-based technologies are also described to provide a comparison with the corresponding bioenergy systems.
