We Expanded Our Board Game Range…400+ New Games in Stock Now!

It is the moment we have been waiting for… it is finally board game week here at Book Hero!

A few months ago, Dylan and Tim gave me a challenge: double the number of board games we stock at Book Hero. To say I was excited would be an understatement.

Things started off really well and, while it's taken a little longer than I'd hoped, we're finally there. Last week we placed orders for more than 500 new board game titles, and 400 of them arrived this week!

Is it a little crazy considering we're about to move warehouses? Absolutely. But I think it's worth it if it means bringing you some of the best board games out there.

Our warehouse team have been absolute rockstars over the past few days, merging bins so our receiving team had enough room to stock everything, making space on the shelves for the bigger games, and getting hundreds of new titles stocked and shelved. It has been awesome to see how much excitement all these new games have brought to the team.

Before I get into all the cool games we have now, look at how cute we all are playing a couple of rounds of Scattergories on our lunch break!

Alright, here we go with the new range rundown. I hope you're ready for this…

Modern Classics & Fan Favourites

One of my biggest goals with this range expansion wasn't simply to stock more games. I wanted Book Hero to become a place that board gamers could keep coming back to, whether they're buying their first strategy game or expanding a collection they've spent years building.

That's why we've added expansions and new content for some of the biggest names in modern board gaming, including Root, Everdell, Forest Shuffle, and Azul.

These are the modern classics that are pulling more and more players into board games, and we are here for it. Whether you're introducing someone to the hobby or adding to a game you already love, there are now so many fantastic titles to explore.

Board Games for the Sci-Fi Fans

Some of the games I was most excited to add to the range are our new sci-fi strategy games, including Nemesis: Retaliation, the third instalment in the hugely popular Nemesis series, where this time you're stepping into the boots of heavily armed marines heading straight into an alien nightmare.

We've also got Vantage, an open-world adventure that sees you crash-land on an uncharted planet; Planet Unknown, where you'll build and develop your own planet; and Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps, a cooperative survival game that throws you straight into the world of Aliens to battle Xenomorphs with your team.

And if you're already a fan of Andromeda's Edge, we've added the Escalation expansion too, bringing even more factions, modules and strategic possibilities to the game.

Basically, if your ideal board game involves space, aliens or exploring somewhere very, very far from Earth, there are now plenty more to choose from!

For the Cosy Gamers

At the complete opposite end of the spectrum from battling aliens in space, we have the cosy games, and these are probably some of my favourite additions to the whole range.

I love beautiful games that let you slow down and just enjoy playing. There's no need to rush or finish first; you can take your time, enjoy the artwork and settle into the game at your own pace.

We've added some seriously gorgeous ones too. Verdant lets you create your dream plant-filled home, Nocturne has you playing as a mystical fox casting spells beneath the moonlight, and in Tulikko you're building an enchanted northern wilderness beneath the aurora.

Then there's Twinkle Twinkle, where you create your own star chart using beautiful transparent tiles; Hanami, which takes you picnicking beneath Japan's cherry blossoms; and Nebula, where you'll build your own colourful galaxy.

They're all quite different games, but they have that same calm, beautiful feel that makes me want to put them on the table immediately. Honestly, this section alone could be dangerous for my board game collection!

Journey Into Roshar with the Stormlight RPG

As a huge Brandon Sanderson fan, I couldn't be more excited about the arrival of the entire Cosmere Stormlight RPG range.

If you've read Brandon Sanderson's books before, you'll know just how rich and immersive his worlds are. The Stormlight RPG gives you the chance to explore Roshar yourself, creating your own adventures alongside friends in one of fantasy's most incredible settings.

And even before you start playing, these books are seriously beautiful. The hardcovers feel like proper collector's pieces, packed with gorgeous artwork that brings Roshar to life. They're the kind of RPG books that you could happily spend hours flicking through just to take in all the details.

Bring on the Chaos

Exploding Kittens has released a whole bunch of new games, and we're bringing them all in!

Rage Mode is all about trying to keep your cool while the game does everything it can to make you lose. Curse You is a new standalone game that throws ridiculous curses your way, making even the simplest tasks much harder than they should be. These games are perfect for people who love cut-throat gameplay and aren't afraid of making people mad...so these two might actually finally be the games to get Duncan playing with us at lunchtime!

Then there's Boba Blast, a fast little game where you're racing to collect ingredients and make boba teas. It's cute, addictive and total chaos, and we will definitely be adding this one to family game nights. Cat Condo Cornhole, which combines cats and cornhole into one completely ridiculous game where you're tossing squishy cats into a giant cat condo. Personally, this is the one I am really excited about because it sounds completely ridiculous and so much fun. And really, who doesn't like playing cornhole?

This is just a taste of the party games we've brought in, there are plenty of quick, hilarious games that are perfect for family gatherings, game nights, or anyone who enjoys a little friendly chaos.

My Personal Favourite: Dixit

If you've read my previous blogs, you'll probably know I'm a huge fan of Dixit Kids and love playing it with my niece and nephews.

It's such a great game of storytelling and imagination, and the artwork is gorgeous, so we've expanded our range to include all of the available expansions for the original Dixit too.

If you've never played before, Dixit is a wonderfully imaginative game where players use beautifully illustrated cards to tell stories and make clever guesses. Every game feels different, and it's one of those rare games that's just as enjoyable with kids as it is with adults.

Every Exit... Is Finally Here

We've expanded our EXIT: The Game collection to include every title we could get our hands on, which means there are now heaps of mysteries to work your way through. Whether you're escaping an abandoned cabin, uncovering ancient secrets or trying to solve something completely bizarre, there's pretty much an EXIT adventure for every kind of puzzle solver.

I love that these are essentially an escape room in a box. You work together to solve riddles, crack codes and figure out what on earth the game wants you to do next, and because each one has a completely different theme, there's always another adventure waiting when you've finished.

And we've added the kids' EXIT games too, which I'm particularly excited about because I can't wait to see how my niece and nephews get on with them.

Games for the Kids

I know I've gone on and on about playing games with my niece and nephews, but honestly, it's because it's one of my favourite ways to spend time with them.

That's why I've expanded our range of kids' games too. We've got so many fun and colourful games arriving, from educational games for little ones through to completely silly family games that adults will happily join in with too.

Some of my standout favourites are Slappy Camper, Rory's Story Cubes, Push Push Penguin, Count Your Chickens! and Alphabet Go Fish! There's a really nice mix now too, whether you're looking for something to help with counting and letters, encourage storytelling and imagination, or just get everyone around the table laughing.

Travel Games? Yes, Please!

I love a good travel game, especially pocket-sized versions of some of our favourite games. Whether you're heading away on holiday, packing for a camping trip, or just looking for something easy to throw in your bag, these are perfect for gaming on the go.

We've got Grab & Go versions of some of Exploding Kittens' most popular games, along with travel-friendly classics like Monopoly, Battleship, Candy Land, and plenty more. They're small enough to take just about anywhere, which makes squeezing in a game that much easier.

I particularly love these for throwing in the car if we're going somewhere overnight or for the weekend because you can play them anywhere. You still get a proper game night without having to sacrifice any space to board game boxes (although we do often stack up on the full games too!).

This Is Just the Beginning

The games I've mentioned here are only a small taste of what we have arriving over the coming weeks and, as we move into our new warehouse, I'm hoping to add so many more to the range.

From epic strategy games and immersive roleplaying adventures to party games, family favourites, and classic titles, there's something for every type of gamer.

Keep an eye on our Coming Soon and New Arrivals pages because there's still plenty more to come!

And if you feel like we're missing something, we'd genuinely love to hear from you. One of my favourite things about being a board gamer is hearing how passionate other people are about the games they love — and discovering even more games to add to my ever-growing list!

So while I've technically completed Dylan and Tim's challenge of doubling our board game range, I know I'm definitely not going to stop there…
