Brick by Brick by David Robertson and Bill Breen unravels the fascinating and tumultuous journey of LEGO, one of the world's most beloved and enduring brands. With a narrative that reads like both a thriller and a business manual, this book delves into the dramatic highs and shattering lows of a Danish family business that has captured the imaginations of generations of children and adults alike.

The book details LEGO's golden years, where it cemented its place in the hearts of millions globally. However, it also candidly showcases the company’s near-collapse in 2003, when its inability to adapt to a swiftly changing market brought it perilously close to total ruin. What follows is an incredible recovery story, where innovative strategies and bold decisions spearheaded the company's revival. Robertson and Breen closely examine how disaster was averted and how LEGO not only survived but thrived to become an industry titan once again.

Granted unprecedented access to every facet of the LEGO Group, Robertson meticulously charts the critical missteps and the breathtaking turnaround. From chronicling the challenges faced by management to providing an insider’s look into the innovative solutions that salvaged the company, Brick by Brick offers a thorough analysis of what went wrong and how it was fixed. The book underscores the importance of creativity, resilience, and strategic vision in navigating and mastering the ever-changing contours of the business landscape.

This enlightening saga is not just for LEGO fans or business enthusiasts but for anyone interested in understanding how companies can not only weather storms of monumental change but also leverage them to achieve unprecedented success. The lessons drawn from LEGO's story are as timeless and captivating as the brand itself, making Brick by Brick a must-read for those who aspire to grasp the intricate dance between risk and innovation.
