Sunshine on Scotland Street witnesses the wedding of the century as Angus Lordie ties the knot with Domenica Macdonald. However, as the newlyweds depart on their honeymoon, Edinburgh is thrown into disarray.

Matthew, still recovering from the trauma of being best man, is unexpectedly taken up by a Dane named Bo. Meanwhile, Cyril, eluding his dog-sitter, embarks on an odyssey that involves fox-holes and the official residence of a cardinal. In an intriguing twist, narcissist Bruce meets his match in the form of a sinister doppelganger.

Bertie, set up by his mother for fresh embarrassment at school, yearns for freedom, while Big Lou finds herself going viral. Despite these challenges, the residents of Scotland Street rally together.

Orderβ€”and Cyrilβ€”is eventually restored through the combined effects of understanding, kindness, and, most of all, friendship.
