Instead of just chomping down on its prey, it's believed that Allosaurus used these claws almost like meat hooks, grabbing onto its prey and then using its powerful jaws to deliver devastating bites. This combination of claws and biting power made Allosaurus a top predator of the Late Jurassic period.
