Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, the SUNDAY TIMES and NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author of The Martian, offers a gripping new adventure in hard science fiction. With endorsement from notable figures such as Barack Obama and a slew of five-star reviews, this novel promises a thrilling and intellectually stimulating journey.

Ryland Grace, a lone astronaut, finds himself on a desperate, last-chance mission. If he fails, humanity and Earth itself will perish. Grace, however, awakens aboard his spacecraft with no memory of his mission or even his own name. All he knows is that he has been asleep for a very long time and finds himself millions of miles from home with only the bodies of his deceased crewmates for company.

As his memories gradually return, Ryland realises an impossible task lies ahead. He is hurtling through space on a tiny ship, charged with solving a daunting scientific riddle to prevent an extinction-level event. With time running out and the nearest human billions of kilometres away, he faces this monumental challenge alone. Or does he?

This novel embarks on an irresistible interstellar adventure, showcasing Weir's trademark blend of meticulous scientific detail and compelling narrative. Project Hail Mary explores themes of discovery, speculation, and survival, taking readers to places beyond their wildest imaginings, much like Weir’s previous masterpiece, The Martian.

Andy Weir does it again

If you have read The Martian (or seen the movie!), then it shouldn't surprise you that Andy Weir has yet again published a fantastic sci-fi book - soon to be movie, so get your bragging rights in now by picking it up early!

I’m a sucker for a ‘race to save humanity’ story, and this book is a great example of it. The sense of stress, tension and mystery pervade so much of it. Also, there’s Rocky - we love Rocky.

Highly recommend picking this one up. I’d already read it and just picked a copy up from Book Hero for my collection, but it came very quick and in perfect condition.

About the Author

Andy Weir built a two-decade career as a software engineer until the success of his first published novel, The Martian, allowed him to live out his dream of writing full-time. He is a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of such subjects as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight. He also mixes a mean cocktail. He lives in California.
