Picasso-Giacometti by Virginie Perdrisot and Serena Bucalo-Mussely explores the profound impact Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti had on the art world. Each, in their own unique way, challenged existing artistic codes and stretched the boundaries of established aesthetic standards.

This volume unveils the previously underexplored dialogue between the two artists, focusing on central subjects and questions pivotal to their work. Both artists, iconic figures of the 20th century, shared a vast network of acquaintances and sources of inspiration, intriguingly mapped out in a constellation diagram within the book.

Readers will find over one hundred full-page reproductions of their artworks, establishing clear connections in their artistic expressions. Accompanied by expert insights, the book draws on previously unpublished documents to highlight these links. Additionally, an anthology of historical texts provides the perspective of contemporaries of the master artists.

The book also reproduces the principal works and texts from the Picasso-Giacometti exhibition held at the MusΓ©e Picasso in Paris from October 4, 2016, to February 5, 2017. This exhibition, produced in collaboration with the MusΓ©e Picasso and the Fondation Giacometti, continued its journey to Qatar in the spring of 2017.
