Norman Foster profiles an architect whose work has made a significant impact worldwide. Known for his innovative designs, Foster's agency has authored over 300 projects that have reshaped urban and rural landscapes globally.
This comprehensive new monograph, published in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou, showcases more than 80 of his seminal projects. It begins with the 'Cockpit' (1964), a private residence in Cornwall, and extends to Spaceport America (2006-2014), the first terminal for space tourists located in New Mexico's desert.
Each project is accompanied by a rich collection of drawings, sketches, and photographs, paired with insightful commentary. Additionally, the book features an essay by Frédéric Migayrou, curator of the related Centre Pompidou exhibition on Foster. It includes a biography penned by renowned architectural critic Philip Jodidio, along with an in-depth interview with Foster himself.
Foster contributes an anthology of six analytical texts, covering the diverse phases of his illustrious career.
