A detailed guide to the breath-focused meditation practice of Kriya yoga for spiritual growth, inner stillness, and self-realization

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Kriya Yoga for Self-Discovery is a detailed guide to the breath-focused meditation practice of Kriya yoga, aimed at fostering spiritual growth, inner stillness, and self-realization.

The book explains the basic techniques of the practice, detailing proper posture, breathwork exercises (pranayama), bandhas, third-eye gazing, and the use of mantra. It presents advanced yet simple techniques that accelerate a contemplative practice through micro-modulations related to posture, respiration, visualization, and sound.

Included within are insights from the author’s teacher, Ganesh Baba, on the importance of the spine in Kriya yoga and the Cycle of Synthesis, a model of the human experience.

Kriya yoga is an ancient meditation technique that concentrates on breathing and the spine to unlock deep awareness, self-realization, and spiritual growth. Kriya provides a rapid path to awakening, though its practices have traditionally been veiled in secrecy, transmitted from master to initiate for thousands of years.

Having been introduced to Kriya 40 years ago, Keith Lowenstein, M.D., offers an accessible yet comprehensive guide to this meditation practice. He explains the basic techniques step by step, outlining proper posture, breathwork exercises (pranayama), visualization practices, and mantra. He demonstrates that Kriya is a scientific artβ€”if practiced consistently, it allows quick entry into deep meditation states, ultimately leading to inner stillness. The practice also promotes healing, cultivates compassion, and achieves the liberation and joy that comes from the union of Nature and Spirit.

Sharing his teacher's wisdom, Lowenstein adds a detailed comprehension of anatomy, particularly the significance of the spine in Kriya yoga and energy flow. Ganesh Baba’s teachings on spirit-infused science and the integration of Vedic philosophy, quantum mechanics, prana, and spiritualization are illustrated in the Cycle of Synthesis. The book also discusses the relationship between Kriya yoga exercises and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, alongside teachings from other influential figures such as Paramahansa Hariharananda.

This guide offers not only an understanding of the practices of Kriya yoga but also reveals the spiritual richness it bestows, including the ultimate self-realization of non-dual reality.
