Jingo by Terry Pratchett is a humorous fantasy novel from the Discworld series, where the accidental surfacing of an ancient island sparks a tense conflict between Ankh-Morpork and Klatch. The Ankh-Morpork City Watch, led by Commander Vimes, finds themselves embroiled in chaotic political manoeuvring as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind the island's sudden reappearance and mediate peace. In true Pratchett fashion, the novel satirises real-world politics and highlights themes of nationalism and diplomacy.

Discworld goes to war, with armies of sardines, warriors, fishermen, squid, and at least one very camp follower.

As two armies march, Commander Vimes of Ankh-Morpork City Watch faces unpleasant foes who are out to get him... and that's just the people on his side. The enemy might be even worse.

Jingo, the 21st in Terry Pratchett's phenomenally successful Discworld series, makes the World Cup look like a friendly five-a-side.
