Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Sourcery by Terry Pratchett is a fantastical tale set in the Discworld universe, where magic is threatened by the unexpected rise of a sourcererβ€”an extremely powerful wizard with the potential to upset the balance of magic. As the wizards' conflicts grow into chaos, Rincewind the inept wizard reluctantly finds himself in the thick of things, accompanied by an unlikely cast of characters. Their journey is filled with humour, adventure, and Pratchett's signature satire on power and ambition.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

There was an eighth son of an eighth son. He was, quite naturally, a wizard. And there it should have ended. However (for reasons we'd better not go into), he had seven sons. And then he had an eighth son... a wizard squared... a source of magic... a Sourcerer.

Sourcery sees the return of Rincewind and the Luggage as the Discworld faces its greatest - and funniest - challenge yet.

About the Author

Sir Terry Pratchett is a publishing phenomenon. Among his many prizes and citations are the WORLD FANTASY LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, the CARNEGIE MEDAL, the BSFA AWARD, eight honorary doctorates and, of course, a knighthood. In 2012, he won a BAFTA for his documentary on the subject of assisted suicide, 'Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die'. He is the author of 50 bestselling books but is best known for the globally renowned Discworld series. The first Discworld novel, THE COLOUR OF MAGIC, was published in 1983, and the series is still going strong almost three decades later. Four Discworld novels - HOGFATHER, GOING POSTAL, THE COLOUR OF MAGIC and THE LIGHT FANTASTIC - have been adapted for television, with more to follow. His books have sold approximately 75 million copies worldwide (but who's counting?), and been translated into 37 languages. Terry Pratchett lives near Salisbury in Wiltshire.
