Talking Romantasy with John Campbell RNZ and Sacha Wackrow Book Hero

Listen to the full interview below!

What a week it's been at Book Hero!

Following all the incredible excitement surrounding the release of Sarah J. Maas's latest book, 'A Court of Splintered Harmony', I was absolutely delighted to be invited onto RNZ's 'Morning Report' to chat with the wonderful John Campbell and Ingrid Hipkiss about one of my favourite subjects, ROMANTASY!

We talked about the extraordinary rise of the genre and how fantasy romance has gone from a relatively niche corner of the bookshop to one of the biggest publishing phenomena in the world.

As a HUGE Romantasy fan myself, I absolutely LOVE seeing this genre getting so much attention! For me, it the purest form of escapism. It's a chance to switch off from the stresses of everyday life, forget about everything else for a little while and completely lose yourself in magical worlds, extraordinary adventures and, of course, a little romance!

It's been so exciting watching the genre grow, and even more special seeing readers across New Zealand coming together over their shared love of these books.

A huge thank you to John, Ingrid and the RNZ team for having me on! It was such a lovely opportunity to chat about something I'm so passionate about.

You can listen to the full interview above, and I really hope our conversation inspires a few more Kiwis to pick up a Romantasy book and give it a go!

Reading is SO important, and anything that encourages more people to switch off, put down their phones and rediscover the joy of getting lost in a good book is a wonderful thing. And if you haven't tried Romantasy yet, PLEASE give it a go! There's a reason so many of us are completely obsessed.

One final piece of advice from me: if you're going to start with the ACOTAR series, make sure you read the first TWO books before making up your mind. Trust me on this one, I really don't think you'll be disappointed!
