For Such a Time as This
For Such a Time as This
A group of young, Black British friends navigate their way through the ups and downs of modern London life, in this richly imagined collection of linked storiesΒ
A richly imagined short-story collection that deftly explores the connections that bind us: how we make them, maintain them, or even break them when they no longer serve us
In Shani Akilah's stunning collection of short stories, For Such a Time as This, we meet a group of Black-British Londoners as they explore their platonic and romantic relationships. From a fleeting meeting between past lovers and the first bloom of a new love, to the grief of losing a sibling and the difficulty of navigating racial inequalities in the workplace.
Bringing to life themes of community, faith, and belonging, these beautifully crafted stories give an insight into the joys β and struggles β of the many ways we experience love and friendship.
