About the Author
Diana Vreeland (1903-1989) was hired as a columnist at Harper's Bazaar by Carmel Snow in 1932. From 1936 to 1962, she was the magazine's Fashion Editor. Following Bazaar, Vreeland was the editor in chief of Vogue from 1963 to 1971, and later worked at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Alexander Vreeland is the grandson of Diana Vreeland and the president of the Diana Vreeland Estate. He is the author of Diana Vreeland Memos (Rizzoli, 2013).
