Jamie Laing's A-Z of male vulnerability is the conversation starter the younger generation of today didn't know it needed. Based on his personal experiences with mental health, and the wisdom he's accumulated from people he's met along the way, Boys Don't Cry provides an alternative, healthy blueprint for what contemporary masculinity can look like.

Powerful and timeless, this is a book for everyone that will kick-start honest conversations and help create real change - Fearne Cotton

This book reminds us that being vulnerable is the very gateway to deeper friendships and richer forms of flourishing. A very necessary, highly readable and relatable voice to help us to discover more liberated and creative ways of living - Alain de Botton

Accessible and packed with helpful takeaways, Boys Don’t Cry is a handbook Jamie has poured his heart into about growing up in today's society. It is a handbook that you can dip into, split into easy-to-digest mini chapters about:

  • dealing with panic attacks (‘A is for Anxiety’)
  • why setbacks are a good thing (‘F is for Failure’)
  • the meaning of true friendship (‘L is for Loneliness’)
  • and much, much more.

This is the book you need to make meaningful changes in your life. Because when it comes to being a man, Jamie is still trying to work out how to be one he’s proud of being, rather than the one society expects him to be.

Now that he and wife Sophie Habboo are going to be parents, he wants to share the tools to help his child grow into a balanced, thoughtful, and kind person.

Above all, Jamie shows us that vulnerability is cool. And that boys do cry - after all, he's done plenty of that this year.

With contributions from Sophie, Boys Don’t Cry will help men and women, boys and girls have the conversation of all conversations: how to live your happiest and most resilient life in today's world.

About the Author

Jamie Laing is a British media personality, entrepreneur, and presenter who rose to fame through household shows and his successful business ventures. As a charismatic figure on British television and radio, Jamie has built a successful career in entertainment and entrepreneurship.

In early 2025, Jamie completed an extraordinary physical challenge for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day, running five consecutive ultra-marathons over five days from London to Salford—covering over 150 miles. Despite having never run more than 5k previously, he raised over £2 million for charity while advocating for mental health awareness.

Jamie is the founder of podcast production company Jampot Productions and Candy Kittens, the fastest growing confectionery company in Europe. Under Jampot, he hosts two chart-topping podcasts – NewlyWeds, the No.1 podcast alongside wife Sophie Habboo, which had a sold-out tour in 2024, and Great Company.

Jamie is the host of a prime BBC Radio 1 Show, has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing [BBC] where he placed second in 2020, and has partnered with the likes of Burberry, Spotify and CeraVe.
