Automatisierte Modelloptimierung für Fahrzeuge mit Anhänger by Sebastian Thomas Maier delves into the automated optimisation and validation of physics-based vehicle dynamics models for vehicles with trailers. The focus is on developing a reproducible and efficient method for parameterising complex simulation models, which present unique challenges due to nonlinear dynamics, internal couplings, and a high number of model parameters.
An optimisation framework based on real measurement data is developed, which combines evolutionary search methods with an objective evaluation of time series. This allows for systematic adjustment of model parameters and a comprehensible assessment of model quality across various driving manoeuvres.
The presented approach significantly reduces manual calibration efforts while providing reliable statements regarding model validity and applicability. It is particularly suitable for simulation-supported development and validation of vehicle-trailer systems in both research and industrial practice.
