Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Anatomyzing Divinity presents a three-part study of modernity, exploring the profound influence of Western thought and philosophy on the contemporary world. James L. Kelley uncovers overlooked academic research to trace the transmission of occult wisdom from ancient China, India, Egypt, and the Hellenistic world through Byzantium and beyond. Central to the narrative is an exploration of G. W. Leibniz, the mathematician and philosopher who invented calculus and paved the way for binary code and modern computing. Kelley reveals Leibniz’s roots in the Frankish metaphysical tradition, contrasting with the materialism of his peers. The book also examines the occult foundations of Western political systems and the alchemical underpinnings of Western philosophy and theology.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

This three-part analysis of modernity assesses the impact that Western thought and philosophy has had on today's world. Making use of neglected research from the fringes of academia, Anatomyzing Divinity traces the circuitous path of occult wisdom from China, India, Egypt and the Hellenistic world to Byzantium and beyond.

At the heart of the book is an investigation of the life and thought of G. W. Leibniz, the man who invented calculus and laid the groundwork for binary code, which in turn made computers possible. Leibniz's roots, Kelley shows, lay in the Frankish metaphysical tradition, and thus have little in common with some of his contemporaries' materialism.

Along the way, sidelights are turned on the occult basis of Western political systems, as well as the alchemical basis of much Western philosophy and theology.
