"Forests create the air we breathe. They provide shade for people and animals. But humans are destroying more forests every day. Check out what happens when forests disappear - and if we can reverse the losses"--

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Forests and Deforestation by Christina Hill explores the critical role that forests play in our environment. Forests create the air we need to breathe, offer shade, and provide homes for both people and animals. They supply wood for fuel and building materials, and they are undeniably beautiful spaces.

However, deforestation poses a significant threat as humans are destroying more forests every day. As towns and cities expand, more land is taken from forests. Trees are cleared for space faster than they can be replanted. This book examines what happens when forests disappear and explores whether we can reverse the damage that has already been done.

About the Author

Before embracing a career as an author, Christina Hill received a graduate degree in literature. She knew that she had a passion for both education and the written word and discovered that educational publishing is the perfect blend of both. When she is not writing on a variety of subjects from climate change to Shakespeare, Hill can be found hiking, mastering yoga handstands, or walking her playful puppy across the coastline of sunny Southern California. Julie Lerche is a graphic novelist and art instructor from Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from the Manhattan School of Visual Arts in 2020 and received a BFA in Cartooning. She has worked on projects for HarperCollins, Scholastic Graphix, and High Noon Books. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, playing D&D, and putting salt on things that don't need salt.
