The Kadmakara children are helping Wongabel to reach her home tribe, the Woomera people, but they have to pass through the Land of the Kangaroo people - and they are cannibals. Ages 8-14.
Land of the Kangaroo People by Percy Trezise follows the story of Jadianta, Lande, and Jalmore, children of the Kadimakara People, who are swept away from their home by a fierce storm.
The children survive the unfamiliar surroundings of the friendly Dingo People but now, in the land of the Magpie Goose People, they face giant goannas and marsupial lions. Will Jadianta, Lande, and Jalmore ever see their family again?
Journey of the Great Lake is a beautifully illustrated series which gives a unique picture of Australia during this ancient time. Read the story of Jadianta, Lande, and Jalmore, then follow their path as they travel to find their way home on the specially provided poster-sized map included with the book.
