The Asian Maverick

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

The Asian Maverick offers life and leadership lessons from an Asian perspective, based on the career of a man who has ascended to the pinnacle of the Western corporate ladder, only to leave it all behind to embark on a new journey.

Chris Lee held a prestigious position, leading the Asia Pacific division of Medtronic, a multibillion-dollar enterprise and one of the world's largest medical device manufacturers, for a decade. He consistently delivered outstanding business results. Then, at fifty-six, he chose to abandon his secure role to establish VentureBlick, an international fundraising platform connecting healthcare startups with medical investors. Why did Lee make this choice?

Lee shares his story as one of the youngest Asian leaders in a multinational corporation (achieving the title of youngest director at Merck at twenty-seven, youngest country manager at thirty, and first Asia-Pacific leader reporting to Bayer HQ at thirty-nine). He demonstrates how he infused Asian leadership sensibilities into various global enterprises and reveals why he believes it is crucial for corporate leaders to view the world through an Asian lens and think like a maverick.
