Too Small to Be a Giant

Lola can stomp like a giant and she can yell like a giant … but can she grow as BIG as a giant? She’s determined to try in this hilarious new story from the A Little Bit Lola series!

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

In this funny, delightfully warm-hearted story from the A Little Bit Lola series, Lola is on a mission to grow big enough for the water slides – even if it means eating broccoli.

Lola’s big sister, Emma, and big brother, Max, are going to the water slides, but Dad says that Lola is too small to go. If Lola was a giant, Dad would have to take her. And how hard can it be to grow a bit taller? All Lola needs is some sunshine, a splash of water, a little love and maybe a sandwich or two …

This laugh-out-loud early-reader series is perfect for fans of Princess in Black and Dory Fantasmagory! With decodable text, accessible design and gorgeous full-colour art on every page, A Little Bit Lola is fun for the whole family and sure to spark a love of reading.

Youngest sibling Lola inspires and delights with her limitless imagination, inventive problem-solving and determination to prove she’s NOT as little as she looks. No matter the obstacle, Lola always finds a way to be whatever she dreams and to be herself.

About the Author

Kiah Thomas started telling stories when she was a kid, reimagining the endings in books she read. She rediscovered her love of kids’ books when she had children of her own, and started writing beginnings as well as endings. Kiah grew up on the south coast of New South Wales and now lives in Melbourne with her husband, three children and at least nine soft-toy penguins. She is the author of the internationally published middle-grade series The Callers, and dreams of one day having more books than penguins.

Bec Kitson is an illustrator based in Northern Victoria. She loves making art that delights all ages, which she shares online under @scribblegum_illustration. Bec cares deeply about celebrating, inspiring and empowering young people through her art and stories. Bec shares a home with her partner, two daughters, a chaotic but beloved garden, and a local family of magpies.
