Toni Zuccheri at Venini showcases the artistic and multidisciplinary journey of Toni Zuccheri (1936-2008). As an artist, architect, designer, sculptor, and poet of glass and nature, Zuccheri's career is beautifully retraced in this exhibition and catalogue.

Born as the son of the animalist painter Luigi Zuccheri, Toni inherited a passion for animals which frequently appear in his creations. He pursued his studies at the architecture faculty of the University of Venice, learning under esteemed mentors such as Gardella, Albini, Scarpa, and Samonร .

In the 1960s, Zuccheri began collaborating with Venini. Following the family tradition, his initial glass works were animals crafted in polychrome glass using refined techniques such as "murrine." In 1965, he teamed up with Gio Ponti to design a groundbreaking system of large glass windows, known as the "Vetrate Grosse." This collaboration led him to broaden his glass production, experimenting with new colours and subjects.

Throughout his career, Zuccheri participated in numerous exhibitions around the world, capturing a unique fusion of nature and artistic innovation in each piece.
