The Trial
The Trial
The Trial is Kafka's gripping work of psychological horror, featuring a new introduction and notes by Carolin Duttlinger.
This terrifying psychological journey follows Joseph K., an ordinary man who unexpectedly finds himself accused of a crime he did not commit. The nature of this crime is never revealed to him. After his arrest, he is released but must report to court regularly, an obligation that proves maddening as nothing is ever resolved.
As K. becomes increasingly uncertain about his fate, his personal life, including his job at a bank and his interactions with his landlady and a young woman living next door, grows more unpredictable. In his attempts to regain control, K. inadvertently accelerates his own excruciating downward spiral.
