Mary Boone grew up in rural Iowa. Prior to becoming an author, she reported and edited for several daily newspapers. Mary has written over 70 non-fiction books for young readers, including Pedal Pusher, School for Fish and Bugs for Breakfast. Mary now lives in Tacoma, Washington, with her husband, Mitch and her very stubborn Airedale Terrier, Ruthie Bader.

Andrea Turk (Illustrator)
Andrea Turk is an Illustrator and Surface Print Designer from Northern Ireland. She has a degree in Fashion and Textiles. After graduating, she lived 12 years in London art directing, and travelling all over the world designing, working with factories, and researching trends, before starting her own creative studio, selling her art to American Greetings, Paperchase, Hallmark, Barnes and Noble, Disney, Warner Bros., and Design House Greetings to name but a few. Andrea works traditionally in watercolour, gouache, colouring pencil, hand painted collage, acrylic inks and finishes her work digitally. She currently lives back in Northern Ireland with her husband, three dogs and a cat, and works from a wee studio in the garden.?
