In the enchanted Booga Dooga Land is a little Pixie Town, where Pickwick, a little Pixie, lives with his delightful, smiling OctoDoll. Right from the time the OctoDoll had come alive by inadvertently breaking the "Code of Dollus", Pickwick and the OctoDoll had been repeatedly thrust into life and death situations, where they had to battle formidable adversaries to save other creatures of the Booga Dooga Land, as well as Pixie Town, the Silver Mountains, and the entire Booga Dooga Land.

Pickwick and the OctoDoll rose to the occasion each time, valiantly entering the fray even at the cost of their own lives, and used incredible "Plans" which only they could have made, to overcome their formidable adversaries and win the day. Like other creatures such as the Wormus, the Idearoolus Blick, Harky the Shark, and Wilful the wicked flowerfish introduced in the earlier tales, this tale also introduces a villainous adversary endowed with evil traits and seemingly insurmountable magical powers!

Pickwick and the OctoDoll, who had gone for a picnic to the incredibly beautiful "Valley of the Singing Grass," were frozen by the Horus into statues and were on the verge of being gobbled up by the Horus when they were rescued in the nick of time by the Silver Dragon. While all this action was going on, and while the Horus determinedly followed them up to the Silver Dragon's cave high up in the Silver Mountains where they had taken refuge, even more original and exciting creatures like "In" and "Quisitive" as well as "Trans" and "Lucent" emerged in the Booga Dooga Forest.

Finally, the Horus was overcome just a moment before he would have crushed our heroes and gobbled them up! The Horus turns into ... aha ... that would be telling ... suffice it to say that this tale is so enchanting that the entire family will be delighted and will surely want to read it all together.

Tales of the Booga Dooga Land - The Horus by Deepak Menon offers a magical adventure that captivates readers of all ages.

About the Author

Deepak Menon was born in the picturesque town of Dehradun near the beautiful hill town of Mussoorie in India. He inherited a taste for fine reading in English from his parents. He acquired greater insight into the nuances of the English language from his aunt, who was a teacher of English Literature and Geography as well as the Principal of one of the town's largest English medium schools. Having developed a voracious appetite for reading books of all genres early in his youth, Deepak Menon writes with unique ideas and a vivid imagination. The well of literary creativity brimmed over when he needed to tell his little son and daughter bedtime stories somewhere in the nineties. The children, along with some of the other little children who came into the ambit of his home, were so excited by the books that he wrote down all the stories and kept them with him. He and his wife worked in senior management positions in a commercial bank in India, and living the life of a banker did not provide him time to build on the foundations of the book for the next two decades. Finally, with his children set on course in life, he voluntarily resigned his bank officers job early to start a new innings as an author. Deepak Menon was always fond of word-play, and there is no dearth of it in all the books of the "Tales of the Booga Dooga Land". In fact the very concept of making a 'Plan' will change after the reader has read the book. He has now published 3 full length tales of the Booga Dooga Land viz Pickwick's Plan, The Wormus and now The Horus. He plans to publish more books of the 'Tales of the Booga Dooga Land' in the coming year. He also plans to complete his Science Fiction Novel spanning planets and also plans to complete and publish a "period" novel in the next couple of years, which will be the mirror of the times. It is about the adventures of two runaways in Mumbai. He also plans to publish another 3 volumes of poetry in the next few years.
