Showjumping, dressage, leisure riding, driving in harness, therapy - no discipline is too difficult for the versatile Icelandic pony. Unlike most other horse breeds, Icelandic ponies also have two other gaits: talt and flying pace. Both gaits are very pleasant for riders as well as being incredibly fast. 

That's why competitions for Icelandic ponies usually take place on special racetracks which allow them to display their gaits perfectly. Icelandic ponies even have their own world championship.
