Princess Smartypants and the Missing Princes by Babette Cole tells the tale of Princess Smartypants, who rules her kingdom of Totaloonia on her own. She certainly doesn't need the help of a silly prince or a husband. However, she is always willing to help her friends and agrees to host the engagement party of three would-be princesses.

But trouble starts when the princes fail to turn up to the party—they've gone missing.

Princess Smartypants is determined to uncover the plot and rescue the princes. With the help of Eric, her friendly giant handyman, she sets off on a wacky adventure to track the princes' last moves.

About the Author

Babette Cole is one of the world's best loved writers and illustrators of children's picture books. She has created more than 150 picture books and her bestselling Doctor Dog has been adapted as a successful children's cartoon TV series. Famous for her wacky sense of humour, most of her work is comedy like The Smelly Book, The Hairy Book, The Slimy Book and The Silly Book. Babette Cole was born on Jersey in the British Channel Islands. She attended the Canterbury College of Art (now the University for the Creative Arts) and received a BA Honours first class with distinction in animation.

She is a fellow of KIAD. She worked with Peter Firmin and Oliver Postgate creating children's BBC TV programs such as Bagpuss. Her work has been widely televised on BBC's Jackanory, CBeebies and Channel 4.
