About the Author

Tim Waitai-Tipene, (Ngฤti Kuri/Ngฤti Whatua) โ€“ was adopted into the Waitai-Tipene whanau as a toddler. He was raised in two cultures, NZ Mฤori and NZ European. First published in 1996 Tim is now the author of more than thirteen books, five of which have won awards. Isobel Te Aho-White, (Ngฤti Kahungunu/Ngฤi Tahu) โ€“ a very popular illustrator based in Wellington. โ€œMy personal artwork is definitely about connecting people with each other and with nature โ€ฆ uplifting people, especially young women,โ€ Isobel remarks.
