After being arrested and transferring to a new high school in Tokyo, Akira Kurusu is faced with the challenge of rehabilitation and discovers a new power—the power of one's true self, a Persona. With his Persona and the mysterious navigation app Mementos, Akira and his friends become the Phantom Thieves, saving people from the twisted desires of those around them.

Initially praised as heroes of the people, the Phantom Thieves reach the peak of their popularity. However, this changes dramatically after the untimely, gruesome mental shutdown and death of Haru's father, the CEO of Okumura Foods, during a live TV press conference. Public perception shifts, branding the Phantom Thieves as criminals and murderers.

To maintain their cover as model students, the group decides to organise Shujin Academy's culture festival, hoping to invite detective Goro Akechi to their school and gather information from him. Little do they know, this will lead to an unexpected new member joining the Phantom Thieves...

About the Author

Hisato Murasaki is a manga artist and illustrator from Japan. He has created illustrations for a number of manga and novel series, including Hyakume no Kishi (Knight of 100 Eyes), The Case-Book of ENA, the D-Crackers series, and Bravely Archive: D’s Report. He also wrote the manga Boku no Mawari no Uchuujin (The Alien Around Me). He started work on Persona 5 in 2016.
