My Mate Mark is a Hammerhead Shark! by Jeanne Willis tells the story of Mark, a hammerhead shark who faces numerous challenges in his everyday life. Unless he wears a disguise, waiters refuse to serve him, and he can't go anywhere without causing a scene β€” people either scream and run away or tease him relentlessly.

However, things take a turn for the better when a little boy befriends him during a cruise ship holiday. The boy sees something in Mark that others fail to notice. Could it be that Mark is not only harmless but also a hero?
