After a recent string of bad luck, Emma's parents send her to live with her grandma for the fall semester in their Carlton Landing vacation home. Never mind that she swore never to return.

But during her small-town banishment, she's decided to focus on a few simple things: school work, finishing her novel, and, most importantly, arranging a chance meeting with the cute carpenter next door.
