About the Author
Karen Manbullo lives in Binjari, a small Aboriginal community about 20 kilometres west of Katherine in the Northern Territory. She has four children. She likes to go fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with her family. She wouldn't want to live anywhere else but Binjari. Moli det Bigibigi is based on a true story - her brother found the little piglet lost in the bush and brought her home. The illustrators, Binjari Buk Mob, consists of 24 women from the Binjari community outside Katherine in the Northern Territory. Under the auspices of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, the women, together with illustrator Julie Haysom and linguist Denise Angelo, have produced 9 bilingual books (Kriol and English), a significant contribution not only to their community but to Kriol-speaking communities across Australia.
