Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

One of the best written and most sophisticated books on personal finance that I've read (and I've read a few). ALAN KOHLER

Leading economist Evan Lucas's bestselling guide to mastering your mindset and making better financial decisions is now available in a smaller, more affordable format, with two bonus chapters of updated information.

Mind over Money has helped thousands of readers understand their money personality better and how their thinking and mindset drive their money behaviour.

What drives our behaviour and attitude to money? All too often we ignore logic and make decisions around money that we know aren't entirely rational. That's because money isn't just about financesβ€”it's deeply tied up with our emotions, our learned behaviours, and our biases.

In the first of the new chapters, readers learn why having gratitude for what you have will improve your relationship with money.

In the second bonus chapter, the author explores the very human trait of falling into cost sinkholesβ€”failing ventures we continue to throw resources at purely because we have done so previouslyβ€”and how we can learn to cut our losses and, even better, prevent ourselves from falling into these sinkholes in the first place.

This updated edition is certain to find a whole new readership in the current challenging economic environment.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Mind Over Money by Evan Lucas has received high praise for its engaging and sophisticated approach to personal finance. Reviewers appreciate Lucas's ability to provoke thought about financial self-awareness and personal behaviour with money. The book is lauded for providing readers with tools to gain financial independence rather than offering specific advice, making it a refreshing and energising read for those keen on understanding their financial habits more deeply.

About the Author

Evan Lucas is a leading economist and media personality. He has loved markets since his days of sitting with his grandfather and mulling over his investment portfolios. What he learned from his early experiences is that investing habits, strategies and behaviours do not necessarily translate across families, generations or peers.

This led him to become fascinated with behavioural finance throughout his career, which has taken him to the Netherlands, the UK and back to Australia over a decade and a half. His biggest learning from his time working in markets, investing and finance is that our individual behaviour towards money is always different and always changing.

Evan is a regular media commentator on ABC News Breakfast, The Project, the Today show and Sky News. He is also the host of Smart Money on the Nine Network.
