Description
Keeping Henry is a charming tale of a baby red squirrel who is only three inches long when the mischievous Charlie catapults him out of his nest. Ragged and skinny, Henry is too young to survive in the wild, raising the question: can a squirrel become a pet?
Henry's new human family finds themselves in a similar predicament. Evacuated from London during the Blitz to a farm in Wales, they are adjusting to a new way of life, much like Henry being 'tipped out' of his nest.
This lovable, mischievous little creature makes nests out of their clothes and climbs up the children as if they were trees. Can Henry help his new family settle into their new surroundings? Keeping Henry explores this delightful journey of adaptation and companionship.

About the Author
Nina Bawden (1925-2012), CBE, was one of Britain's most distinguished and best-loved novelists, both for adults and children (Peppermint Pig and Carrie's War being among her most famous books for young people). She has published over forty novels and an autobiography, In My Own Time. She was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Circles of Deceit and her novel Family Money was filmed by Channel 4, starring Claire Boom and June Whitfield. In 2004 she received the S. T. Dupont Golden Pen Award for a Lifetime's Contribution to Literature.
