Honeybees: The Wonders of the Hive and How to Help Them Thrive is a beautifully written book that draws us into the fascinating, complex world of bees, inviting us to pause, notice, and care for these wonderful and essential creatures.
Mary and Henry, passionate beekeepers, left behind established careers to pursue a life devoted to honeybees and the vital role they play in our ecosystems. What began as a risk turned into a deeply rewarding journey β one that changed their lives and the way they move through the world. This book is their invitation to you to see things differently.
As they put it: βThe more we learn about bees, the more we begin to care β not just about hives and honey, but about the health of our ecosystems, our communities, and the choices we make every day. A better world for bees is a better world for all of us. And it begins, simply, with paying attention.β
With bee populations in decline, habitats shrinking, and colony health under pressure worldwide, there is urgent and serious reason for us to care. Beesβ impact extends beyond their hives: they sustain entire ecosystems, make modern agriculture possible, and uphold biodiversity that supports countless other species. The good news? We can help them thrive!
Blending science, storytelling and practical advice, this book shows you how to support bees and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable planet.
Lavishly illustrated and including stunning photography, Honeybees is the perfect gift for nature lovers, gardeners and anyone who wants to make the world a better place.
