Folly exists because good literature should turn you on a little. Intellectually, emotionally – sometimes viscerally. We’re not here to bore you. We’re here to dazzle you, disturb you, make you snort into your coffee and send screenshots to friends with a β€˜WTF’ caption. This third annual issue is culturally charged with works from emerging and established voices across Aotearoa...

About the Author

Emily is the director of Wellington-based public relations agency Heft Communications and founder of the Wellington Writers Studio, a social enterprise creating space for Wellington creatives.Β

Her stories have been published by small presses and overseas journals, and shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize and the Bridport Prize. Emily continues writing when she can, mostly fiction that hinges on the satirical and focuses on relationships.

Emily co-founded Folly Literary Journal with Tiana Jones in 2022, after a research mission to New York and much banter with counterparts across the world who have launched similar journals and literary publications.

She lives between Wellington city and the beautiful Kapiti coast with her husband and young twins.
