About the Author
Mark D. Kilgus, MD, PhD, is clinical professor of neuropsychiatry and behavioral science with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both child/adolescent and general psychiatry, Dr. Kilgus teaches psychiatry for Graduate Medical Education at Lexington Medical Center. Jerrold S. Maxmen, MD, was associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons until his death in 1992. Nicholas G. Ward, MD, was professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He died in 2008.
