A stunning edition of the beloved modern classic from the Nobel Prize-winning author of The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men.

'The work of a great storyteller' - WASHINGTON POST

California's fertile Salinas Valley is home to two families, the Trasks and the Hamiltons, whose destinies are fruitfully, and fatally, intertwined.

Between the beginning of the twentieth century and the end of the First World War, generations of these families helplessly replay the fall of Adam and Eve and the murderous rivalry of Cain and Abel.

Considered by Steinbeck to be his magnum opus, East of Eden is a sweeping family drama exploring the universal themes of love and identity, of good and evil. With its epic scope and memorable characters, it remains one of America's most enduring novels.

This edition features a beautiful new cover by renowned artist Bijou Karman.
