Presenting case studies from the Global North and South, researchers explore the experiences of communities in refugee camps and those that have either chosen or been driven to move across borders by conflict, economic or environmental forces.
Acknowledging the many difficulties that migrants face, the book also looks at the creative urban processes that emerge in the wake of violence and the resourceful way refugees build lives in and outside camps.
