Cora receives a baseball glove (or "mitt") for her birthday. This unusual pink mitt has magical powers but to unlock the magic, Cora comes to learn that if she shares her mitt with her teammates, they will all field their positions much better. This contributes to the team's victory in the final game of the season. This is a story about the importance of sharing and being a good teammate.
Cora is a precocious five-year-old who receives a pink baseball glove, the mitt, for her birthday. She gathers a group of her friends to start a team, but it's the first time they've played the game together and they aren't quite sure what to do.
Their initial efforts are not very successful, and it could be that they don't know how to play together as a team, helping each other out and backing each other up. Cora loves her pink mitt but refuses to share it with her teammates, who aren't having much luck with their own.
Once her father convinces her to give it a try, the team's fortunes turn around. Everyone on the team who takes a turn with the pink mitt plays like an all-star. Cora saves the best for last, both in the field and at bat. They are a winning team at last!
