About the Author
Scott, a committed counselor at St. Joseph's Indian School since 1994, employs his deep understanding of Native American education to enlighten and inspire. As the host of the school's podcast, Hochoka (center of the camp circle), he continues to discuss issues critical to Native American education.
Scott's life isn't just about work. With his wife LaRayne, he has raised four daughters and revels in the joy of six grandchildren. Outside of work and family, he unleashes his creative side by playing the bass and singing with his band, Persian Wheel. Scott's multi-faceted life experiences seep into his writing, creating a tapestry of vivid storytelling that resonates with readers.
LaRayne is a life-living granddaughter, daughter, mom and grandma of Lakota ancestry. Since 2002, she has taught Lakota language and culture at St. Joseph's Indian School. She shares kindness, wisdom and stories with others through presentations and public speaking engagements.
