Billy Summers

Stephen King's compelling novel - a No. 1 Sunday Times bestseller in hardback - is about a contract killer, an ex-marine, with one last payday to earn before he retires. Once again King sets his storytelling talent on a new path with this epic new thriller.

From the masterful pen of legendary storyteller and No. 1 bestseller Stephen King comes Billy Summers, a riveting and multifaceted novel that intertwines action, psychological depth, and redemptive themes. At its core, the novel follows Billy Summers, an exceptional sniper and decorated Iraq war veteran, who is the epitome of a morally complex anti-hero. Known within the shadowy circles of hired assassins, Billy only accepts contracts targeting those he deems truly deserving of death.

As Billy contemplates leaving the mercenary life behind, he accepts one final assignment, believing it will be his last. The task appears straightforward, but as the plan unfolds, it becomes clear that nothing is as simple as it seems. Billy, a master of disappearing acts, soon finds himself caught in a web of ever-increasing danger and moral ambiguity. The stakes are higher than ever, leading to an explosive journey that tests his skills and his conscience.

A dazzlingly shapeshifting novel, Billy Summers seamlessly blends nail-biting action with profound psychological insight. The Sunday Times praises it for being "equally good at action scenes and in-depth psychology," while the Sunday Express highlights its "surprising heartfelt and redemptive ending" that makes it a "compelling and engrossing read."

This can't-put-it-down novel transcends the typical thriller, offering a narrative that is as much about the intricacies of human nature as it is about suspense. Stephen King's “restless imagination is a power that cannot be contained” (The New York Times Book Review), and he skilfully uses it to craft a story that is part war tale, part love letter to small-town America, and a deeply engaging character study.

Featuring one of the most compelling and unexpected duos in King's oeuvre, Billy Summers dives into themes of love, luck, fate, and vengeance. The novel presents a tale of one man's last shot at redemption against the backdrop of his profession's violence and treachery. The hero’s journey in this enthralling saga will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.

Billy Summers is not just a thriller; it's an exploration of the human spirit, where complex characters navigate a world rife with moral dilemmas and second chances. This unforgettable story ensures that once you meet Billy, you’ll never forget him.
