Animal Farm by George Orwell is a compelling and satirical allegory that delves into the dynamics of power, corruption, and politics within a seemingly utopian environment. Set on Manor Farm, the story begins with the animals growing increasingly dissatisfied with their neglectful and inebriated owner, Farmer Jones. Inspired by a visionary and idealistic boar named Old Major, the animals dream of a self-governed farm where they can live freely and equally.

Believing that they can create a fair and just society, the animals unite to overthrow Farmer Jones. Initially, the revolution appears to bring the promised prosperity and harmony. The pigs, who consider themselves the smartest of all, assume leadership roles with two pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, emerging as the primary leaders. However, as the pigs jostle for control, dark undertones begin to surface. They modify rules to consolidate their power, and their leadership starts to mirror the tyranny they initially sought to eliminate.

Orwell's sharp critique of totalitarian regimes, particularly reflecting the events leading up to and following the Russian Revolution, shines through in this timeless classic.
