Albie on His Way follows a young boy tasked by the king to deliver an important message to a neighbouring castle. Along his journey, Albie encounters a squirrel, a weary mother with many children, and an old animal, all needing his help just as much as the king's command. Through clever, parallel storytelling by Hans Christian Andersen Award winner Jutta Bauer, the book highlights the value of kindness and staying true to oneself even when on a significant errand.

Age range 4 to 8

It's not the journey that changes his life, but those he meets along the way.

Albie on His Way tells the story of Albie, who is on a mission. The king has commanded him to deliver an important message to the neighbouring castle. Dutifully, he dashes away. But once on his way, something comes up... and then another thing, and then another! What is one to do when a squirrel, a tired mother and her many children, and an old animal need Albie's help just as much as his king?

Told with clever parallel storytelling, Hans Christian Andersen Award winner Jutta Bauer relays a charming tale about the importance of kindness and being true to oneselfโ€”even when you are on an important errand for the king.
