The Sage's Tao Te Ching, 25th Anniversary Edition by William Martin conveys timeless wisdom that resonates with readers today. Originally composed twenty-five years ago, this free-verse interpretation of Lao Tzuโ€™s Tao Te Ching captures the complex emotions connected with growing older.

In China, the sage has been celebrated for thousands of years, and Martinโ€™s work reminds us of the sageโ€™s inestimable worth. In a world that often prioritises youth, Martinโ€™s words encourage todayโ€™s sages to claim their rightful place, stating:

"If there is to be a transformation, it will be the sages among us who will show the way. The elders, the wisewomen, the shamans, the grandmothers, and the grandfathers will provide the guidance, for they have undergone the necessary initiations... and emerged into the spaciousness of simplicity, freedom, and joy."
